Client Information

We acknowledge that there are many choices for pet boarding and daycare, and we appreciate your business. Our objective is to ensure that our service policies are clear and understandable in order to provide the best client and staff experience possible.

Terms and Conditions

Reservations

  1. We require a one-time temperament test (temp test) for all new dogs. Click HERE for temperament test details.

  2. Space cannot be guaranteed if online reservations are not made in advance.

  3. Check-in and check-out times are during normal business hours, with the exception of Holidays. Click HERE for a full list of the Holiday dates and holiday hours.

  4. No-shows or cancellations made within 72 hours of a reservation start date will incur a $25 cancellation fee automatically charged to the card on file.

  5. Late charges will apply for all pickups after closing hours IF a staff member is available to wait after hours for you. All late pick ups must be coordinated with staff in advance. If staff are not available to stay after hours to wait for you, your dog will be required to stay the night. Nightly boarding rates apply. We have people living on site with the dogs, but they do not do night time check-ins/outs.

  6. All dogs checked in for overnight boarding will be charged for a night of boarding regardless of check-in/check-out time. After that, boarding is charged by 24 hour periods. If additional time at Parkland is required on your scheduled pick up date, you will be charged for daycare on the last day. For example, if you drop off your dog on Monday at 8:00 AM and pick up on Wednesday of the same week at 8:00 AM, there is only a charge for 2 nights of boarding. But if you would like to pick-up that Wednesday at 2 PM, there will be a pick up later fee added to your boarding total. This is because 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM is an additional 6 hours after the 24 hour periods. Your pick up time must be confirmed with a staff member and within our normal business hours. Pricing for pick-up later than drop-offs is listed here).

  7. All Release Forms on your online profile must be signed before making a reservation.

  8. Vaccination records must be up to date.

  9. Reservations of 14 days or more may require a 50% deposit at the time of check-in.

  10. Clients that we have yet to establish a relationship with, (i.e. first-time customers) may be required to pay for the entire stay at the time of check-in.

Payment

Payment is due when all services are rendered. We accept all major credit cards and checks. We accept cash, but we do not keep change on hand. A $25 returned check fee is applicable for all returned checks. We reserve the right not to accept personal checks as payment for future stays.

Overall Health

All dogs visiting must be in apparent good health. Any pet with a communicable condition will not be allowed to board or play for the safety of other boarders and daycare clients. Pets that have been ill within the past 30 days will not be admitted. Pets must be on an effective flea control program. Any unaltered animals may be kept away from the group areas if deemed necessary. Parkland allows animals on medications to board and charges a fee to administer medication if it is needed by the dog.

Parkland is not able to accept the following:

  1. Unneutered males over 6 months

  2. Aggressive dogs towards other dogs: If your dog has a bite history with other dogs, you are required to let us know.

  3. Aggressive dogs towards staff members: If your dog has a bite history with one or more people, you are required to let us know.

  4. Female dogs that are in heat

  5. Puppies under 16 weeks old: Puppies MUST have their 16 week shots for boarding/daycare

  6. Dogs that have a terminal illness and are in the late stages of the illness

  7. Elderly dogs who are fragile

  8. Dogs that have had a communicable illness of any kind during the last 30 days prior to check-in

  9. Dogs that require medical treatment beyond dispensing oral or topical medication (i.e. shots, drains, bandage changes, sutures, etc.) unless treatment is prearranged

  10. Dogs that have been in a shelter at any time during the 30 days prior to check-in

  11. New Pitbull Guests- Due to current insurance restrictions, we are not able to accept new Pitbull guests. You may contact Cradled Critters Pet Sitting in Hollister who has different insurance guidelines.

Vaccinations

Our vaccination policy is designed to protect the health of all animals visiting this facility. Our vaccination policy has been created to meet California state law. We require current:

  • Rabies

  • Bordetella (Booster required every 6 months)

  • Distemper/Parvo (DHPP, DHLPP, DA2PP, or DA2PPV)

We require proof of vaccinations before reservations are made in our online portal. Clients must understand that cases of Kennel Cough (K9 Cough, Bordetella) can occur even in vaccinated animals. There are lots of strains of K9 Cough and Bordetella Vaccines only cover a few of the most common strains.

Vitamin C

We highly recommend that you give your dog Vitamin C for two weeks after any stay at a daycare/boarding facility or at a vet. Vitamin C is a holistic way to help boost their immunity when they are exposed to viruses just from being away from your house or backyard. Click here for Vitamin-C Dosages.

Behavior Requirements

Our boarding/daycare set-up requires that all dogs can be handled for feeding, play-time, and cleaning of kennels. Unsuitable behavior can result in the termination of boarding/daycare privileges. Unsuitable behavior can include but is not limited to growling, snapping, biting, excessive stress exhibited in continual, uncontrollable barking, and/or physical destruction of property.

Please be aware of the inherent risks of dogs interacting in a social play setting. The risks include, but are not limited, to the spread of diseases, cuts, and abrasions, bite wounds, etc. Client must understand the risks that group play in any setting poses to dogs.

Aggression

If your dog is deemed unsafe for the other dogs and unsafe for staff members, we will ask you to pick your dog up that day. If you are not physically able to pick up your dog within that day, you will be held fully responsible and assume all liability if you decide to keep your dog on our premises to finish out their scheduled stay.

Food, Toys, & Bedding

We do not recommend leaving anything but your dog's food (and vitamins/medications if needed). Owner-brought items can get chewed up and damaged. Parkland is not responsible to replace lost or damaged owner-brought items. Please bring extra food if your dog is staying for overnight boarding. Due to increased activity, sometimes we will ask to feed high-energy dogs more than their usual amount of food to keep their weight up.  If your dog runs out of food, there is a $3/meal charge for in-house food.

We do not often give the dogs toys due to toy aggression among dogs. Toy aggression is not always known and we do not want to risk another dog being rude to your dog over a toy. Often dogs are wonderful with other dogs until it comes to guarding a toy. We do not want to risk the safety of the pack.

We will provide the following for your dog:

  • Blankets

  • Beds

  • Dog food bowls

  • Measuring cups (for food)

  • Automated water bowls

  • Crates/kennels

Dirty/Tired Dogs

There is a high chance that your dog may be dirty at the end of their stay, as they are allowed to play with each other throughout the day and are often rolling around during play. Please also expect your dog to be very tired for a few days at the end of their stay.
